About Amanda
For as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for travel. As a young girl I would call into the Travel Agency, pick up brochures and take them home to dream of visiting the amazing destinations I found amongst the pages.
Although I didn't work in the industry until later in my life, I took every opportunity to travel the world and learnt as much as I could. My first overseas holiday was a cruise to the South Pacific. From then I was well and truly hooked. I had a passport and I wanted as many stamps in it as I could. I travelled to New Zealand, Europe, America, Cook Islands (where I got engaged), the Maldives (our honeymoon) and Singapore.
Once I started working for Helloworld in 2017, I felt I belonged. This was my dream come true, working in travel, making other people's dreams come true. My first work trip was to China. From there the world really opened up for me and I visited Thailand, New Zealand, East and West Coast Canada, London and the UK, Cambodia and Vietnam. Travelling with companies like Scenic, Back Roads and Insider Journeys.
I had a couple of ‘pinch me' moments in this time. The first was seeing the snow fall at Lake Louise. As the snow fell around me, so did my tears of joy. It was everything I had seen in the brochures and more. The second was experiencing London with my daughter. The people we met and the memories we made I will forever cherish. I now owe my son a trip to Canada and my husband a European River cruise!
After leaving the industry due to COVID, I knew that when I began working in the industry again, I wanted to offer a more personalised service. That is why I have chosen to work with MTA Travel.
