We all travel for different reasons; to explore, to learn, for business, to experience what this magnificent world has to offer, maybe it's a romantic getaway or a family vacation? All of these reasons and experiences will leave you with one thing – MEMORIES.
My most wonderful memories are travelling, firstly as a young child, now I have made new memories travelling with my husband and 3 children.
Travel is my passion, always has been. I cannot remember a particular moment when I realised this is what I wanted to do in life, it's like it was always just meant to be.
After completing my advanced diploma in Tourism Management when I was 19, I decided to actually get out and travel the world! I lived and worked in Christchurch, NZ, working as a Sales Manager for an international coach touring company. Returning to Australia, I worked for National World Travel and later ANCRO in their reservations department. I finally settled down in Melbourne and began employment with Air New Zealand Holidays in their reservations department, specializing in family vacations and group travel. I then took on the role as Head Training Officer for the company. From there it was time to continue my journey within the Travel Industry, moving to an operations role at Captains Choice, where I stayed for 8.5 years.
I have been so lucky to have travelled to many parts of the world. More recently I lead a tour group of 58 passengers on a cruise through the Mediterranean and Adriatic!! We spent a lot of time on the Italian Coast and it has to be one of my most favourite places in the world. Working for an airline also gave me the opportunity to travel overseas regularly, always learning, always experiencing.
I have seen in the New Year in Antarctica, skied an active volcano in New Zealand, experienced the frightening reality of an earthquake, and enjoyed the luxury of a 6 star cruise watching the world go by. I have walked the walls of Dubrovnik, the Milford track in Queenstown, gazed upon the well preserved roads in Pompeii and dared to brave the rides at Disneyland!
I love my job. Becoming part of the MTA family has been a wonderful and exciting move for me. It has opened up a whole new world of amazing products and prices. I can combine my love of the world and travel, with the love and practicality of raising my children.
