The World we live in – The world the way it was…
I love travel, I love history… I adore it when I can combine the two. The Ancient Egyptians, the Ancient Greeks, Ephesus, Olympia, the city of Troy, the Ottoman Empire, the French revolution, the Spanish Inquisition, the ANZACS, the Great Wall of China… The list is endless.
Have you stood on the shores of Gallipoli, silent, imagining what it would have been like?
Have you wandered the streets of Pompeii (pictured above), seeing a place frozen in time, imagining the terror as they ran for their lives?
Have you stood in awe of the Pyramids – just how did they build them?
Have you stood in front of the Colosseum, imagining the romans and their battles?
Have you been to Delphi, pondered the Oracle and her wisdom?
Have you surfed the waves in Waikiki, hanging 10?
Have you stood on the bridge of sighs, picturing yourself in a Dan Brown Novel?
Have you walked the walls in Dubrovnik, remembering that their wars and violence is so recent?
Have you sat at Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport, feeling grateful for the brave souls like Charles Kingsford Smith and Amelia Earhart?
These are the thoughts that inspire me to travel. These are the questions I strive to find answers for.
We are so very lucky to live in a world where so many historical places/ruins still remain and are still accessible. Some of these places I have travelled to, and some I am yet to discover. Let me tell you my stories, let me give you advice. Let me plan your next journey!
