What Incredible Views at Enclosure Bay!
We stayed in the Great Barrier Suite at Enclosure Bay and it was just amazing! The accommodation was superb and views were stunning. We enjoyed some beautiful local wines sitting on our deck overlooking the bay and had plenty of time to relax in the hot Jacuzzi, also taking in the breathtaking views. Breakfast was delivered to our room daily and the hosts looked after our vegetarian dietary requests. Andy, the host was very helpful with everything and provided us with lots of useful local knowledge. He even assisted us with picking us up and dropping us off at the ferry aswell as dropping us off in town and at The Mudbrick Winery.
Having the separate bedroom was great as we were able to have plenty of space to move around and for our daughter to enjoy. The accommodation was very tastefully decorated and clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was a service lift which was very helpful with transporting our luggage and pram. There was a local bus-stop located about a 10 minute walk away. We used the bus service to do a little tour around Waiheke Island and it was great! We visited a great café that offered delicious vegan and vegetarian food – Timbuktu in Ostend!
I would certainly return to Enclosure Bay and would recommend a visit to Waiheke Island to anyone wishing for a peaceful and relaxing getaway or side trip to Auckland.
The ferry across was simple and easy and the wineries on the island are beautiful. My favourite restaurant was at The Mudbrick Winery. The views from the winery are amongst the best on the island also.
