Byron Bay - Australia
This photo was taken at Main Beach in Byron Bay. Byron Bay is one of my favourite places in Australia. I was lucky enough to have spent about one year there, so I know the place through and through.
The beaches are among some of the prettiest that the East Coast has to offer. A visit to Watego's is a must and if you are happy to go a little off road White's Beach show cases true natural beauty.
The town of Byron Bay has much to offer. It is a vibrant, bustling town full of people from all walks of life. There are some fantastic local markets, in my opinion Bangalow Markets the best. They run on the 4th Sunday of every month. You will find great local produce, handicrafts, entertainment and delicious food.
Byron Bay is the host of many famous music festivals, like Blue Fest and Splendour in the Grass. If its nightlife you are after why not try a 'jam jar cocktail' from Cocamungas in the main street. Relaxing with live music on most evenings at The Beach Hotel is one of the most popular sunset activities. The Balcony is a great venue for a more stylish cocktail and tapas. In my opinion the best pizza's can be found at Earth and Sea. Fish Heads, by the ocean is a great way to start your day.
Byron at Byron would have to be the nicest accommodation in the area. Secluded away from the hustle and bustle, set amongst bushland and beach. This property offers all required for a well earnt break. If getting into the hippie lifestyle is your thing a visit to hillside Nimbin is always interesting (be sure to be open minded).
Surfing, kayaking, sky diving, paragliding, snorkelling and diving are amongst some of the activities to be found here. Dolphin sightings are common, as are whale sightings at the right time of year. A trip to The Lighthouse is also a must.
If you want a holiday that can offer beauty, fun, shopping and relaxation all in one then Byron Bay would be an ultimate destination. From Byron Bay to Europe, South and North America, Asia, South Pacific, Caribbean, Central America, Australia, Polynesia to Africa. These are some of the areas I have visited. I dare you to ask my favourite!
