Hawaii

This photo was taken from The Westin Maui, oceanfront room. Hawaii is one of those all round great places to travel. From relaxing in the sun, to adventure and luxurious getaway's.

After visiting Hawaii five times its safe to say that I know my way around. My favourite place to stay would have to be Outrigger on The Beach. It is well worth the money to have an ocean view room however if your budget can stretch the ocean front suite is to die for. The location of this property is superb. It is located right in the middle of town. You have the local market place with great eateries at your door step as well as fantastic retail and designer stores.

The view over Wakiki Beach is amazing here. I loved waking up in the morning feeling like the beach was at my balcony and enjoying long morning walks along the beach, before sunbathing in the ocean on a lilo. Hilton Hawaiian Village also has a lot to offer and is great for families also. Hilton Hawaiian Village really caters for every need. This property is located about 10-15 minute walk from the main area in Wakiki.

Whilst in Wakiki it is great to hire a car and explore the not so touristy areas. The North Shore is a great place to check out and if you are there from November to February you may catch/see some world renowned gigantic waves. It is also worth the drive to see some of Oahu's famous volcano's and drive their gorgeous coastal route. From plantations to rainforest to tourist attractions Oahu has it all. If time permits a trip to one of the islands is also well worth it. I visited Maui and stayed at The Westin. I could not fault this property. It was spectacular. Maui Island as a whole was beautiful and I loved the quaint but happening town centre!

Remember when travelling to Hawaii or anywhere in the United States Australian passport holders require an ESTA Visa Waiver for entry. Tipping in Hawaii is generally around 10-20%. Some places automatically include this in their bill so beware to check your accounts when paying.
