P&O Pacific Pearl - 4 night Mornington Peninsula Cruise

We were lucky enough to experience 4 nights on-board the Pacific Pearl with a beautiful day at Mornington Peninsula. We boarded the ship at White Bay Cruise Terminal (approx. $30 cab ride from Central Station). The check-in process was smooth running and simple. It took us about 15 minutes from arrival at the port to walking into our ocean view room. Our room was clean and spacious and had a beautiful view over the ocean! We were greeted by our friendly room attendant who showed us through our room. We sailed through Sydney harbour enjoying a cocktail and mock tail along the way. The view was simply stunning. The bonus of departing from White Bay Cruise Terminal was being able to enjoy the extra cruising time in Sydney Harbour and cruising under the Harbour Bridge.

There was a good range of meal and dining options on-board, including Salt Grill (by Luke Mangan at a nominal fee). Be sure to see the maître de as early as possible if you have any dietary needs. And don't forget to pre-book your dining room table for the following day. Reservations are taken on the day of departure and then each evening for the following day.

There is never a dull moment on-board with the many entertainment options. From bingo, to makeshift game shows, to putt-putt tournaments or lazing under the sun/stars to watch a movie! They have Cirque inspired evening shows and theatrical / dance / comedy nightly productions. Or enjoy a relaxing treatment in the Day Spa.  You are sure to be kept well entertained or if relaxing by the pool, lounges, room or one of the adult areas is more your thing then this is the cruise for you.

The day at Mornington Peninsula was just perfect! Mornington Peninsula offered lovely market stalls, an abundance of local shops and delicious dining options. A stroll along the beach is a must and don't forget to take a picture in front if the colourful and iconic beach huts. There are also a number of great shore excursions on offer - including a day trip to the famous Hot Springs. This shore excursion allowed enough time to also explore the township of Mornington Peninsula.

Having sailed with a range of different cruise lines and durations, I found that the 4 night cruise was just the perfect amount of time, ideal for families and couples and groups wanting an affordable yet enjoyable getaway. It was the perfect combination of 2 days at sea to relax and a day on-shore for exploring. If the budget stretches, I'd recommend upgrading to a balcony room. It wasn't too short and it really felt like you had a few days to relax and enjoy a beautiful break away!
