Jessica Goodman -
In 2007 I’d just returned home from working in the USA and started as a trainee at Harvey World Travel in Torquay. It was a whirlwind of training and experience before becoming Manager of the store until 2013 when Vanessa came in to take over my role. I continued on in a part-time capacity until 2018 when Vanessa and I decided it was the right time for us to try and branch out in our local community.
While I had travelled quite a bit domestically, growing up international travel was something of an amazing new world to me. I’ve been lucky enough in the last 11 years to travel to Fiji, Vanuatu, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, USA, Qatar, Italy, Switzerland, multiple cruises and most recently rode camels on the beach in Broome. Since having little ones my travel has been mainly domestic but I’m excited about my future travels and ticking off some bucket list adventures with the family.
Vanessa Teakle -
I started in the industry with Harvey World Travel Mt Gambier in 2010 but it was well before that I fell in love with Travel. My very first trip overseas was to the happiest place on earth, Disney World in Florida, which you can imagine would be hard to beat! Since then I have cruised the South Pacific on multiple cruise lines; visited the UK and Europe on a Working Holiday Visa; and through work, I have been fortunate to visit Bali, Thailand, Hawaii, USA, Patagonia, Dubai and Canada including Skiing at Big White. After leaving Harvey World Travel Mt Gambier, I moved to Harvey World Travel Geelong and then to Helloworld Travel Torquay (previously Harvey World Travel) to take over Jessica’s role of Manager. From here we played tag with maternity leave and formed a great partnership in our job share role, one we hope to continue with this business.
Areas of specialty
Working in a job share role means that no matter when you will always have someone to contact. Every place we have visited has been unique and interesting in its own special way which we would love to share with you.
