Hawaii

I went to Hawaii many years ago and spent some time in Maui but it was so long ago I needed to go back and see it again. Often travel brochures show amazing 5 star hotels that look amazing but to get there you find out there is no mini bar , coffee machine doesnt work and the decor is stuck in the 70's. I took myself off to Waikiki to check out all the hotels myself on Waikiki strip to really understand the place and the hotels. Was the Modern really a 5 star uber cool hotel that alot of young people go to and hang out under the Cabana listening to tunes or has it changed since taken over by timeshare companies... is the Hilton Hawaii Village really that far from the main drag of Waikiki.. what is the walk really like ? is it far ? .. Is Waikiki really like Kuta in Bali or the Gold Coast in Australia... I had so many questions about this destination and I had to go and see for myself.

The answer was that I absolutely fell inlove with Hawaii  !!!  There was so much more to it than just large hotels and tired hotel rooms.

Think - Chanel , Prada, Dolce Cabana ..and fabulous shopping  then mixed with clear warm waters of Waikiki and beautiful Mountains and Volcanos , the most dramatic landscapes , National Parks, Water falls , rugged coastlines , Dolphins , large Turtles that you can swim with in shallow waters, Movie scenes being filmed as so many iconic places , Paddle Boarding , Surfing , body boarding , shopping shopping shopping... Great food and amazing Sundowners ... Jazz bands and Luau ... Hawaii has something for absolutely everyone.

If you dont like Shopping then I would suggest a few days in Waikiki only then explore other areas of Oahu or fly to another Hawaiian Island.
