The King in Memphis

We did the Graceland Tour - not being huge fans or even knowing a real lot about Elvis. However we loved the tour and have since become interested in Elvis and his music.
Feeling like the only person on the tour who wasn't really in the know Elvis wise I would definitely say i came out as an Elvis Fan.
Parking is $10 and from the parking lot you walk to the ticket centre next door.
There can sometimes be long lines if groups are going through however there are usually plenty of staff on hand. Here you will purchase your ticket or exchange your voucher and be instructed to head outside to the shuttle bus line. There are several different tour packages you can purchase depending on how much time you have and how much you want to see.
They then shuttle you across the road to the mansion where you are given headphones and an ipad. You use the ipad for the video / commentary tour of the mansion. Which is great as you can go at your own pace and if you miss anything you can always go back and listen again.
Upstairs is not available to the public, however the entire downstairs, basement and backyard is accessible. Elvis bought Graceland in a 1957.
We did a tour of the living room, the dining room, the kitchen, the jungle room and his downstairs basement in addition to his trophy room and horses.
Then back on the other side of the highway they have the car museum and other Elvis exhibits. We spent about 4 hours here and really enjoyed the whole time we were here. Highly recommend.
Graceland is about 15 mins drive from downtown Memphis so a car is required unless you take taxi or use the local buses.
Graceland is a really great way to experience the life of Elvis Presley and learn more about this music superstar!
