India - a country of contrasts!
I have just returned from an amazing journey through Rajasthan India and I'm wanting more!
I knew of the beauty of the Taj Mahal but seeing this incredible monument at sunrise is such a moving experience - beyond words. India does this to you. The colours, food, culture and the beautiful smiles of the people touch your soul. I stayed with the amazing Taj Hotels in Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur and these hotels took service and hospitality to a totally new level. I have been fortunate to travel extensively throughout my career and I can honestly say I have never be made to feel so welcome ever. Also experienced the amazing Alila property, The Fort at Bishangarh - just opened this year - a beautiful fortress now hotel. But let's not forget what there is to do in Rajasthan. Beautiful Jaipur, the pink city - shoppers delight - amazing textiles and jewellery, food and again the people, the incredible forts and temples along the way and my favourite, Udaipur - the beautiful lake and fort and again great shopping, food and culture. A highlight for me was visiting Mount Batten Lodge - a wonderful experience and memorabilia from days gone by.
India also offers wildlife experiences, tiger and leopard game drives and these are on my to do list for next time!
Whatever your budget, you owe it to yourself to experience this incredible part of the world. I knew I would love it, but didn't think it would be the best love affair ever!
