After 13 years in banking and finance, I finally gave in to my wanderlust in 1998 and pursued a career in the travel industry. At last, I could share my passion for travel and satisfy my thirst for knowledge by assisting others to make their travel dreams a reality. My first 10 years in travel included working for most retail agency brands either full time or on temporary assignments. This experience gave me valuable insight into the array of agency models and helped to recognise the positives and negatives of each.
Unfortunately (or so I thought at the time) I was a victim of the GFC and made redundant in 2008. However, this set back proved to be the catalyst for one of the most exciting, challenging and rewarding periods of my life. I embarked on my first University Degree, earning a Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Queensland in 2011. Studying full time while still being responsible for two daughters finishing high school was difficult at times but I am very proud of what I achieved.
It was during my university years that I joined MTA - Mobile Travel Agents. I knew I wanted to stay in the travel industry but needed the flexibility to work around my other commitments. MTA offered the perfect life/work balance for me and I can honestly say they are the best company I've ever worked for or with. The systems and support they provide and the freedom and flexibility to run my business to best suit my clients and my own needs is fantastic. I love that I am able to take the time to build relationships with my clients, to get to really understand their wants and curate the best travel itineraries possible within their budget. I love that I have the ability to focus on my clients' needs rather than what other employers might require me to sell. This customer-centric approach is a major point of difference for me and its success is proven by the high amount of repeat and referral business I've developed over the years. I love that every client has unique travel styles, expectations and budgets.
I've travelled extensively as a single, couple and family with babies, young children, teenagers and young adults so appreciate the joys and challenges that come with family travel. I'm proud of the level of personal, professional service I provide my clients and hearing their exciting tales of their travels is very rewarding. This could not be achieved without the amazing support of MTA and its Virtuoso network which provide me with access to exclusive travel products and deals. I look forward to tailoring your perfect trip!
