USA AND CANADA 2014

USA and Canada - what a great combination !
We decided to visit a friend in Orlando and do some waterskiing whilst we were there.
Florida is renowned for it's abundance of lakes... and Winterhaven was no exception.
it is also the home of Cypress Gardens and Lego Land a favourite with families.
It was then onto New York - the big Apple! Wow... this place was a knockout! We had a private guide who walked with us showing us the 'not so' touristy places of New York city. We learned how to use the subway and made our way to the Baseball to watch the Yankees, Harlam to view the Apollo Theathre and then to the Staten Ferry to take in the Statue of Liberty.
Central Park was certainly a highlight as was the Empire State Building the Rockefella building and the 911 Museum.
Time Square was alive and well with a light show like no other. It was also a great opportunity to take in a live show and Jersey boys certainly lived up to it's reputation. It was a fun energetic show.
From NYC we flew to Calgary and started our Self Drive across to Whistler. I so wanted to see a bear and there is was crossing the road near the scenic town of Banff. The beautiful Rocky Mountains are a must see and whether you do it by car or by train, they certainly will not disappoint. The beautiful Moraine Lake and Lake Louise are a photographers delight and the tip here is to visit early in the day before the tourist buses arrive.
We stayed in Whistler for a few nights whilst my husband took in some mountain biking with his son who resides in Whistler and then we were bound for Vancouver and onto Seattle for our final destination.
Seattle was fun - I had been there a long time ago, and forgot what a vibrant and colourful city it is.
Seafood is a must at the Pike Market - the seafood chowder is to die for.
Visit the Columbia building on the 73rd floor for a great a view of Mt Rainier and on sunset you can see the beautiful waters of Elliott Bay.
The Space Needle is another famous attraction which should be on your to do list whilst in Seattle. The Boeing Factory and Flight Museum were also worth the visit, but you must book for the boeing factory prior to arrival.
Canada is always high on the list of places to visit. Make it your holiday destination soon !
