Hong Kong & Vietnam

Travelling with the family can be challenging at times but by no means was it while we were visiting Vietnam earlier this year. Vietnam offers a lot for families. We visited Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Halong Bay and Hanoi. The people are very friendly and welcoming and we found the country an amazing Asian country to visit and experience and would highly recommend it.

We had opportunity to do lantern making, buffalo cart rides, fishing with locals, bike and cyclo rides and puppet shows. The kids loved trying the food and I even went to markets and cooking school with my daughter which was well enjoyed by both of us. The temperature can be quite hot and I recommend if travelling to Vietnam always choose a hotel with a pool. You will need to have a refreshing swim at the end of each day of exploring.

We loved Hoi An and the Old Town. Great town for getting custom made clothes and shoes. If you haven’t been to Vietnam yet do yourself a favour and jump on a plane there on your next trip. I flew on Vietnam Airlines and found their service very good. In fact some flights were that on time that they pulled out from gates early!  Most of the aircraft we flew on were very new and in a good condition. Don’t forget to get visa before departure. Lots of dodgy online operators that offer visas but aren’t legitimate.
