Disneyland USA
Another Magical Place which I am sure you will all agree on would have to be Disneyland, USA. I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit amazing place twice, once for my own journey and then the other was with Qantas Holidays which I won a spot on for being in the top 20 of sales throughout NSW in a month.
Both trips we visited the West Coast and included Disneyland in both. I cannot wait to go back to take Rubi when she is a little bit older. Other towns visited were Los Angeles where we explored the Stars homes and walked the famous Boulevard and also had a half day at Universal Studios. We teamed these together and it was perfect amount of time for both.
Tijuana was also on the list of things to do. This was a big day trip down to the border where we were let in the gates to explore the border of Mexico. This was an eye opener. Honestly couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Sea World at San Diego and the Zoo was also a full day trip for both. Both Amazing parks but so much bigger that what we are used to here in Australia. For the zoo, to get to one side of the Park they have a cable car that goes over the top and across the middle of the park in order to get you over the other side if you’re not wanting to walk. Defiantly have some extremely comfy shoes on where exploring the Zoo, your legs and feet will thank you for it!
Las Vegas- Well we all know what this town that never sleeps is about, but until you actually get there, it is quite amazing! The sights you see, the shows, the amount of Casinos, the roller coasters at the top of the casinos, the Strip itself, the Grand Canyon tours and the Shopping.
There is quite a lot you can do in Las Vegas to please allow enough time to do all of the above. I would recommend no less than 3 nights. But PLEASE also be aware of what month you’re travelling in as well because Las Vegas, being a desert, gets extreme hot weather. So if you’re travelling in their peak summer season, be very prepared, the pools come in very handy!
San Francisco. Loved this city! A beautiful city with amazing little areas to explore. The First time we drove from Las Vegas over two days (stopped half way) and rolled in San Francisco. I fell in love with this city strait away. We stayed in a beautiful little boutique hotel which was very close to union square called the “Pick Wick”. Perfect location apart from Fisherman’s Wharf, especially if you are on a budget. There was a tram right out front and getting around was a breeze. We stayed for 3 nights but I recommend at least 5 if you’re going to explore as much as possible.
Must see places include: Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, China Town, Golden Gate Bridge, (we rode over this and ended up the other side in a gorgeous quant town which was quite a contrast to San Francisco, we then got the ferry back over to Fisherman’s Wharf. This was definitely a highlight in San Fran), Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley Wine region, Cable Cars, Pier 39, Union Square, the list goes on!
We then made our way back home and came down the West Coast, weaving our way in and out of the towns, stopping a couple of nights along the way. All in all West Coast is Amazing and like Canada you can choose how you want to explore it, it just depends on what you want. Tour, Self-Drive, Fly. Be sure to allow no less than 3 weeks!
