Rocky Mountaineer Uninterrupted
Sit back, relax and enjoy the incredible views was an understatement as our lovely hostess directed us onto the train. After settling in with a drink we began to realise that this trip is so much more than a train ride. I travelled in May 2016, a-board the Rocky Mountaineer with my son and a group of 14 people who live around the Riverina District in NSW.
We were lucky enough to be seated in Gold Class, right at the front of the carriage which gave us uninterrupted views of the spectacular scenery from the front, the sides and through the fabulous glass dome above us which offers a panorama all the way to the top of the Mountains. We travelled in luxurious comfort surrounded by breathtaking views, a gastronomic experience and a history lesson all rolled into the comfort and luxury that is the fabulous Rocky Mountaineer.
Bring a camera with a good high speed lens; you won’t want to miss the chance of that once if a lifetime shot to capture bald eagles, elks or bighorn sheep all of which were prominent on our journey through the Rockies.
And, bring your stretchiest stretch pants- you’ll need them! Eating is near-constant with delicious, high quality food all delivered by the exceptional staff on-board.
Rocky Mountaineer is a moveable feast for the senses. It’s so much more than a train ride it is a scenic, historic, gastronomic and photogenic train extravaganza… a journey not to be missed.
Happy travels, Sally
