Disneyworld Orlando

Disneyworld – Fantastic For The Whole Family

Fantastic family location “ where your dreams come alive “. It’s a long way from Australia but its worth that extra 5 hours from LA. Fresh air, all attractions in one location. No theme park more than 15 minute drive from your accommodation.

Most of the hotels offer a free shuttle bus to Disneyworld or you can hire a car its up to you. I did the hire car option from Orlando Airport and after some scary driving trying to get out of the car park and getting used to driving on the “wrong side” of the road, driving became a breeze, very little traffic.

You have the choice of 6 separate theme parks at Disneyworld, so do go for the hopper ticket option, where you can visit more than one theme park in one day. If driving you will be charged a parking fee – Approximately USD 15.00 per day, but this is for all the parks, so you can drive to the other theme park car parks and not pay again for your parking. Heaps of apartment accommodation is available in Orlando and you can also add in a cruise as well after spending 1 week in Orlando. Make sure you do all the Disneyworld lands in an anti-clockwise direction and definitely use your fast passes on the ride that have the FP symbol on your Disneyworld map.

They do have healthy side options for children when dining at Disneyworld. You can get carrot sticks, apple slices and grapes instead of French fries. Make sure you take your Vegemite, as my children would of died if they didn’t have Vegemite on their toast in the morning.

Magic Kingdom you will need at least 2 days to explore this fantastic land. Depending on the ages of your children you may only spend ½ days in both Disney Studios and Disney Animal Kingdom if the theme parks are not too busy.

If your children are into Mickey and Minnie Mouse go up to the Mickey/Minnie house 1st as you can be lining for up to 1 hour and the children’s patience does wear out pretty fast! You will have endless supply of family friendly restaurants and the prices are very cheap compared to Australia. Make sure you get a good position for the afternoon Main parade. A good location is in the Wild West area as this is around the start of the parade route. This is the largest Disney theme park in the world, so make sure its on your bucket list for the future!
