Venice Islands
Venice is made up of over 100 small islands, but generally “the Venice islands” refers to the three most famous outlying islands in the Venetian lagoon: Murano, Burano and Torcello. Murano is world famous for it's glass blowing industry, and Burano for its lace making and brightly painted houses. There was an earthquake in Bologna while we were staying in Venice...miles away, but we still felt a slight ground movement. Our first (and hopefully last, earthquake..)
