A little bit of my heart will always be in Street, Somerset
My husband and I just love history. Travelling to the England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales over the years has never disappointed us. But I would have to say, my favourite village is Street! We have some wonderful friends who offer up their family home to us, when they come to Brisbane to visit their daughter and her family. This little pub is off the main road (just), and offers so much in the way of a history of the area (and King Alfred). This pub has 3 rooms to rent, is so close to Glastonbury and all its history and charm, or if you like a bit of retail therapy, I always get the best bargains at Clarks Village DFO, (one day I'm not even going to pack anything....and buy all new when I get there!)
