SANTA BARBARA
I spent 2 nights in Santa Barbara staying at the Harbor View Inn, right across the road from one of the main piers.
The hotel is within walking distance to many bars, restaurants and shops including Funky Zone where you can taste your way through the many local wineries and breweries on offer.
The rooms at the hotel have recently been refurbished, they are fresh and very comfortable. Good size bathroom, decent fridge and bench area for making tea/coffee, desk area and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and beach.
I loved my visit to Santa Barbara, even with the hideous weather we encountered it was still a great stay.
Things to do in the area:
- Head to Hotel Californian for wine tasting
- Experience the Salt Caves, they also have a great gift store
- Olive oil tastings at Viva Oliva is a must
- Visit the Courthouse (it's free) this is where Kardashian got married)
- Visit the Old Mission
- Do a Trolley Tour
I also inspected other properties whilst in Santa Barbara and wowsers they did not disappoint
- Rosewood Miramar Beach amazing 5 star Virtuoso property set right on the beachfront, I had the pleasure of dining in The Revere Room followed by their theatrical cocktails in The Manor Bar
- Ritz Carlton Bacara another fabulous 5 star Virtuoso property located on 78 acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I was offered an experience in their day spa, it was heavenly. Dinner was hosted in a private dining room, the food was divine and so were the French Martinis.
- Mar Monte Hotel by Hyatt, great location opposite one of the main beach in town, it's a huge conference hotel but also has a great summer vibe for couples and families. Rooms are spacoius with funky furnishings. I had a lovely breakfast there at Costa Kitchen and Bar.
- Palihouse Santa Barbara is a unique boutique hotel located in a residential area, rooms are quirky with bright pink bathrooms, Smeg fridge and Marshall bluetooth speakers in your room.
