MONTEREY AND CARMEL

My Visit California Famil took me to Monterey and Carmel in February.

I wish I could have stayed in this area for a few more days, it's beautful.

I stayed at Portola Hotel and Spa, which is located in downtown and backs onto the old Fishermans Wharf which has fun little tourist shops, lolly shops, restaurants and bars.

The rooms at this hotel are very spacious, with louvered windows, good size bathroom and a huge desk space.

You can walk straight across the road into Downtown Monterey where there are many shops, more restaurants and bars.

We did start our day at the Cannery area (5 or so minute drive away) and dined at Schooners at Monterey Plaza Hotel.  This restaurant is located right on the ocean with views of the marina along with otters, seals and other wildlfe.

A short walk up through the Cannery you will find the Monterey Bay Aquarium, this place was mindblowing, it is a must see when you are in Monterey.

We had dinner at Stokes Adobe, which is set in a very historic house, I believe there is a ghost in the house for sure!  The food and cocktails were divine.

On the way back to the hotel we found a fun pub called the Crown and Anchor, it was a big night is all I can say!

The next day we drove to Carmel enjoyed wine tastings at Carraciolli Cellars, lunch at Bicylette Italian before driving down the Big Sur and spotted Brad Pitts house.  We ended our stay with a special visit to the world famous Pebble Beach Golf Course.

I want to go back to Monterey to explore more of the area, it was a truly amazing area to visit.
