I have flown United a few times back and forth to Calfornia, they are a great ailrine to fly with and you also earn Velocity points and status credits when flying with them.
We were fortunate to sit in their Economy Plus section, it has heaps of leg room and is located right behind the Premium Plus Cabin.
They have a huge amount of new release movies (yes I watched Barbie :)), loads of tv shows and some games for the kids. You can purchase high speed internet if you want to do some work on your long haul flight.
There was ample food, beer and wine offered throughout the flight.
The cabin crew are always super friendly.
Arriving in LA it only took an hour to go through customs and security, then we hopped on the bus to our car hire pick up zone. Very quick baggage process as well.
I departed San Francisco airport, it is super quick to check in on the self check in machines and drop your bag at the counter. Security took no more than 5 minutes. I had lounge access, there was a couple to choose from, I opted to go into the smaller one near my gate, there is a bigger option a five minute walk through the terminal if you want more facilities. There was ample food including pulled pork on offer as well as wine, spirits and beer.
