Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady Auckland to Sydney March 2025

We boarded Resilient Lady in Auckland 15 March, it was a pretty quick process, being that we had Deep Blue Extras we are able to board after the Rockstars.

Once checked in with our magic wristband, we head straight to our cabin, midship, balcony, very spacious as we were given an accessible cabin.

The ship is stunning, still looks brand new, bright and funky furnishings, even sea horses you can hop on for a photo.  There is a smaller pool area with hot tubs and then the main pool area with king bed loungers.

This ship has a reputation for amazing food, and it doesn't disappoint.  No specialty restaurants or main dining on this ship, there are several restaurants you can book in:

  • The Wake - steaks to die for, bisque and more
  • Pink Agave - Mexican with a twist
  • Gun Bae - Korean BBQ
  • Test Kitchen - you have no idea what you are going to get
  • Razzle Dazzle - casual dining, American comfort food
  • Extra Virgin - fabulous Italian
Then you have the Galley area with food stations from Ramen to all day breakfasts plus a fabulous bread and dessert station.
But wait there's more:
  • The Dock - Greek Tapas
  • Lick Me Till Ice Cream - all day icecream
  • The Pizza Place - all sorts on offer
  • The Social Club - Diner style with Wings, hot dogs and popcorn
  • Sushi Bento station
You will not go hungry on this ship.
The ship also operates different to a traditional ship, there are no captain annoucements, no cruise director instead they have the Happenings Cast, no art auctions.
They do have a tattoo parlour, some great shops that aren't overpriced, a barber and 80s games like Donkey Kong, Space Invaders all on free play 24/7.
Activities -alot are focused on health and wellness with different excercise classes all day, from yoga, meditation to bungee rope classes.  Other daily activities included a Drag Queen show (which was hilarious), different comedians, art classes, trivia, bingo, casino tournaments and roving entertainment from magicians to soloists.
Ports visited:  Wellington, Timaru, Dunedin, sailed through the Sounds, Hobart and Melbourne
Tip:  You need to prebook your dinner reservations once they open to guarantee the time you want.  Pre-purchase bar tabs to get bonus bar tab.  Take your two bottles of wine.  Buy duty free at the beginning as they sold out of alot of items.
