THE MOXY SANTA BARBARA - Feb 2025
We stayed at the Moxy Santa Barbara for a couple of nights in February 2025.
I like the Moxy brand as it's a bit funky and fun, however this hotel reminded me of an upmarket backpackers as it had a communal games area, continental breakfast area, drip coffee machines and a communal fridge.
Pros
-right across the road from the Amtrak station (we caught the train)
-a block from the Funk Zone, loads of wineries and distilleries
-10 min walk into downtown
-a couple of blocks to the pier and waterfront
-next door is restaurant which has $1 oyster night and a great happy hour
-as we are Marriott bonvoy members we received a free drink each
-onsite parking
-Nice swimming pool area
Cons
-Rooms are very small
-Bathroom was tiny
-Reception is also the bar
-Never any pastries left in the morning for breakfast
Santa Barbara is quite expensive to stay, so this is a great hotel if you are on a budget and a central location.
