Airline Alliances

Maximise your points accrual when travelling

When you travel choose the airline you want to travel with in order to maximise your points accrual. This can lead to faster accrual and more chances to get those valuable free flights. Many airlines also work alongside other providers i.e. hotels, car hire companies and even certain shops to gain more points. Many major airlines also have their own branded credit cards allowing even more earning opportunities.

It's not always in your interest to go for the cheapest flight/airline as you might miss out on points. Also some lower fares do not allow points accrual, so check with your travel consultant. When you join an airline frequent flyer scheme they will have their own partner airlines. Also some of these airlines may well be part of one of the larger alliances below. So for example if your airline is in one of the below alliances and has their own partners then you get more opportunities to gain points.

One thing to check is what point’s options is available with each airline. Do they allow point’s accrual and redemption? This means you can get points travelling on that airline and also that you can redeem points to travel on that airline.
